“I’m proud that Bossier City is taking this vital step to reduce emissions by providing access to these cleaner burning fuels”, said Mayor Lorenz Walker. “The city will also utilize these fuels in its own fleet of vehicles demonstrating that together we can make a difference in improving our air quality and environment now and for years to come.”
The refuelling station is the first in Bossier that supplies compressed natural gas to local fleet and also the first in the region that is municipally owned and operated offering CNG (four pumps) and E85 (four pumps) to the public.
The city informed that fuel savings on the city’s CNG dump trucks is estimated at USD 5,000 a year for each truck compared to the cost of diesel. Furthermore, the construction of the city’s second alternative fuel station is expected to begin by the end of the year.
