With an investment of USD 12 million, Talara plant has modern equipment storage and 10 cutting-edge transport units with a capacity of 8,000 m3 each. In turn, the initiative also includes two CNG refuelling stations (one already operational and the other scheduled to open soon) and is associated with four workshops, explained Gascop’s general manager, Edgar Sanchez.
“With this innovative project, the energy grid change in the north has begun. There are two goals resolved: helping to preserve and not pollute the environment and above all having an energy that allows saving up to 60 percent if compared with gasoline and 40 percent with LPG,” said Sánchez Gamarra.
It is worth mentioning that natural gas comes from Petrolera Monterrico’s site II. Gascop has agreements with this firm until 2016 and is also negotiating for another site, as well with other oil companies that operate in north Peru.
