Poirino’s facility features a provision capacity of up 16 kg/min, enabling a fuelling speed equal to the traditional fuels. “The dispensers are not attached to the normal pipeline network like the traditional ones, and methane is stored in a liquid state at -162 degrees in cryogenic tanks,” explained Diego Pegorari, engineer of Vanzetti.
The opening was attended by William Casoni, Regional Councillor for Commerce and Trade, who stated: “Piedmont is at the forefront in this field. We have allocated 90 thousand Euros for this project because it allows us to store more natural gas for traditional distributors, but also because methane is more compatible with the environment and we work hard to reduce pollution.”
