The launching of Quebec portion of the “Blue Road” took place last month with the inauguration of Canada’s first commercial LNG station in Boucherville, where Quebec officials, Robert Transport, and Gaz Métro Transportation Solutions are working to establish the technical and economic feasibility of liquefied natural gas as an alternative fuel.
It is worth mentioning that the Quebec government has put into place fiscal incentives for the procurement of heavy‐duty vehicles that run on LNG. For its part, Robert Transport intends to roll out a fleet of 180 LNG‐fuelled trucks. Gaz Métro will make use of its liquefaction plant to supply the LNG for refuelling sites located in Boucherville, Mississauga and the Quebec City area.
