After cutting the ribbon that officially opened the new CNG refueling station, Cedeño de Fernández stated: “These new natural gas facilities will help reduce operation costs of vehicles using that fuel.” The site has four pumps with a total of eight filling hoses that are capable of serving the same number of vehicles in three minutes.
Furthermore, Pedro Juan Lama announced that five additional points of sale will be in operation within the next few days in the following Avenues: Charles de Gaulle, Villa Mella, Las Américas, Santiago and Bonao. He also said that Government should give priority to the conversion of 100,000 vehicles to natural gas system over the next three years, because this adoption would represent savings of 1,500 million Dominican pesos (nearly USD 39 million) per month for the country.
