The ceremony was held at the headquarters of Peravia Motors, importer the vehicles, and was attended by Vicente Bengoa Albizu, manager of the Reserve Bank; Nelson Peña, president of Peravia Motors; Víctor Aramboles, president of Inpiesea (a company that serves as guarantor between the drivers and the bank); Ignacio Ditren Flores, director of the Metropolitan Bus Services Office (OMSA); and Arsenio Quevedo, president of the National Union of Carriers and Allied Workers (Unatrafin).
During the delivery of the taxis, Bengoa Albizu said: “In this way, the bank joins the efforts of the Dominican government and domestic private companies to offer drivers fuel-efficient vehicles with less harmful effects for the environment.”
Meanwhile, Unatrafin president highlighted the need to diversify the country’s energy sources in order to face volatility in the prices of liquid fuels.
