While the natural gas industry has more than 14 years in Mexico, the CNG segment has experienced a significant takeoff and gained momentum in recent years and now aims to fully exploit the operation of this business to take advantage of the economic and environmental benefits of this fuel, which allows savings of up to 50% in fuel costs and reducing CO2 emissions by 30% compared to conventional fuels such as diesel and gasoline.
Over the past two years the growth in natural gas refueling stations was 100% and this expansion is expected to continue over time, as domestic and foreign investors have turned their eyes to CNG. By 2020, the national Secretariat of Energy (Sener) estimates that there will be three million CNG-powered vehicles in operation in Mexico.
This highly favorable scenario and continuously growing market, where businesses can be done securely today and tomorrow will host the region’s most important event in the alternative fuel industry. Altfuels Mexico 2017 will take place from 4 to 7 April at the e World Trade Center in Mexico City.
