The company announced that it has received full EPA Certification for Bi-fuel/CNG applications for the General Motors 5.3 L Direct Injection engine family for both the 2014 and 2015 model years. It will offer GM fleet customers the option to convert popular truck models to run safely on both gasoline and natural gas.
The DuraDrive® DI system is a completely redesigned system using Tier 1 OEM tested components engineered to accommodate the unique operating characteristics of the Direct Injection engine.
This system will be available for the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500 pickup trucks and the 2015 Silverado/Sierra pickup trucks and SUV family including the Tahoe/Suburban and Yukon/Yukon XL.
This EPA Certification for the 5.3L Direct Injection engine follows on the heels of the recent AGA Systems Certification for Bi-fuel/CNG applications on the 2014 General Motors Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain line of compact SUVs equipped with the 2.4 L Direct Injection engine.
