The city of Kansas City, which has been running part of its fleet on CNG since 1992, is now powering one-fourth of the city’s cars and trucks with this fuel. The city has saved about $84,000 a month on fuel just for its airport shuttle buses since 2008. The average cost per gallon of natural gas in Kansas City is $1.69, well below the average price of gasoline.
“Our company’s focus is providing sustainable cost-saving solutions to our clients,” added Davenport. “We are excited to see natural gas develop in Kansas City as an alternative fuel that not only saves money, but provides benefits for the environment as well.”
