Bryant encouraged energy efficiency development and asked the Department of Finance and Administration to implement a pilot program for transitioning fleet automobiles to natural gas powered cars and trucks.
“Natural gas is clean, more efficient and more reliable, and will save taxpayer dollars in government’s day-to-day operations. We can and must save valuable tax dollars and achieve new energy innovation,” he said.
Moreover, Flowood-based company NGV Solutions was in charge of a display at the State Capitol, where it showed off the cost-saving benefits of CNG vehicles. “You get the same power, the same gas mileage, reduced emissions out the tail pipe, extended engine life and oil changes,” explained Kent Meadows, NGV solutions executive, to observers.
