Wisconsin Department of Administration awards grants to acquire 81 NGVs

“These awards will further expand the number of fleet vehicles in the state using alternate transportation fuels” said Secretary Mike Huebsch. “With increasing demand for alternative fuels, it is crucial that the infrastructure is in place to expand them across Wisconsin. By increasing business opportunities in the natural gas, biogas and propane supply chain, as well as lowering fuel costs to local businesses and communities, these grants will have a positive impact on Wisconsin’s economy.”

Some of the award winners are: City of Milwaukee ($43,690) that will purchase five light-duty CNG vehicles; Convenience Transport, LLC ($83,910) to acquire five heavy-duty LNG vehicles; Pope Transport ($75,000) to convert five heavy-duty vehicles to run on natural gas; and Sheehy Mail Contractors, Inc. ($75,000) to acquire three heavy-duty NGVs.

Moreover, Contract Transport Services, LLC ($125,000); Dart Transit Company ($125,000); Paper Transport ($125,000); Roehl Transport, Inc. ($125,000); Time Transport, Inc. ($125,000); Veriha Trucking, Inc. ($125,000), and Waste Management of Wisconsin, Inc. ($99,840) also will receive grants to purchase five heavy-duty CNG trucks each one.

Funding for these grants is provided by the Department of Administration and the Wisconsin Clean Transportation Program.
