Republic installed CNG stations to support both fleet of trucks in the Twin Cities and Charleston, so vehicles can fuel during non-peak hours, which has the added benefit of reduced energy consumption during the refueling process. The company operates 26 natural gas fueling sites nationwide, while 50 percent of all its vehicles purchased this year are powered by the domestic fuel source.
“We are serious about reducing ozone-forming emissions wherever possible, and leaving a cleaner and healthier community for our children and grandchildren,” said Bryan Zimmermann, Twin Cities area president of Republic Services.
Moreover, James Amick, Charleston area president, commented: “Our city is home to a diverse environment with considerable natural beauty. Our employees are proud to live and work in this community, and we are excited to do our part for the local environment.”
