Bryan Wilcox, Vice President of AGA Systems, explains that access to a Bi-fuel CNG vehicle has been historically reserved for the light and medium duty truck and SUV market. The Terrain and Equinox on the other hand are some of the best crossover offerings on the road today, and when equipped with CNG, provides an opportunity to see real savings with a smaller more fuel efficient vehicle.
Mr. Wilcox also added, “When running on CNG, the new Terrain/Equinox is one of the cleanest vehicles on the road.” In EPA Laboratory Testing, the new bi-fuel system met or exceeded the stringent Bin 3 EPA standards while running on CNG, making it one of the cleanest vehicles in the United States in the same category as the Toyota Prius and Ford Fusion Hybrid.
Nat G CNG Solutions® has already begun delivering vehicles to Silver Eagle for testing and expects to begin full production of the new Terrain cargo version in December. The vehicles will go on display this week and will be available to test drive at the Natural Gas Vehicle Association Conference in Atlanta, GA.
At this time, the Terrain/Equinox bi-fuel CNG upgrade is available exclusively through Nat G® in Texas and Louisiana. AGA Systems expects to make the new system available through its installer network in other parts of the US beginning early next year.
