“At our existing location in Oklahoma City, drivers are experiencing fill times comparable to fueling with diesel,” said Jon Archard, director of fleet sales at Love’s. “Speed is a top priority for us because our fast-fill CNG dispensers are located on our diesel islands. We are focused on our customers and know professional drivers need to fuel quickly and get back on the road.”
Moreover, Love’s Travel Stops has agreed to purchase 50 new Freightliner Cascadia 113 natural gas day cab units for its fleet of fuel haulers, operating under the Gemini Transport brand, a sister company to Love’s. The new Gemini CNG trucks will be used to deliver fuel in the Texas Triangle area and Oklahoma City.
Gemini has been testing the Cummins Westport 12-liter CNG engine, which offers a 450-mile range, in one of its Freightliner fuel trucks since September 2012 and will take delivery of the 50 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2013 through ATC Freightliner in Oklahoma City.
