U.S. Oil has agreed to supply compressed natural gas to the concrete ready-mix company’s fleet of trucks. The new GAIN® Clean Fuel station, expected to be open in November, will be located in Fairless Hills, PA and will be adjacent to Silvi’s Morrisville concrete plant. Moreover, Silvi is adding 30 Oshkosh Front Discharge Trucks with 12 liter CNG engines and two CNG tractors for cement hauling.
“We’re excited with this partnership,” said Larry Silvi, president of Silvi Concrete. “Utilizing natural gas will help us better manage our costs. Equally important, it will help us reach our goal of becoming more environmentally friendly while allowing us to deliver the best, most cost-efficient product to our customers.”
The new station will add to U.S. Oil’s infrastructure goal to provide easy access to CNG in all of the major trucking sectors within the country. “Partnering with Silvi is a great opportunity as we continue to grow GAIN’s footprint nationwide,” said Bill Renz, general manager for GAIN Clean Fuel.
“Carriers are recognizing the fuel cost savings of CNG and, with a strong national network in place, are converting their fleets from operating on diesel fuel,” add Renz. “In addition to the cost savings, CNG has lower carbon emissions, which is better for the environment, and it’s also a domestically produced product, reducing the impact of global conditions typically seen on other fuels such as diesel.”
