South Korea-based GAS Entec announced that in December 2016 they delivered successfully engineering service and total LNG Cargo handling equipment package for United States’ first 2,200 cbm LNG bunkering barge project. The vessel is under construction in Conrad Orange Shipyard, TX and the main cargo containment system is GTT Mark III Flex system.
The vessel will serve to bunker two TOTE LNG-powered container ships, which have been built in NASSCO Shipyard in the U.S., and it is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2017.
GAS Entec is taking charge of engineering basic/detail design of the LNG cargo and bunkering handling system, and supplied the main related equipment, as well as commissioning services.
Moreover, whole barge electrical engineering for the barge, integration automation service, emergency shutdown system (ESDS), cargo handling hystem (CHS), field measuring package, ship-to-ship communication link system (SSCLS) and fire and gas detecting system, carried by GAS Entec, have been accepted by ABS and USCG (United States Coast Guard).
