Armenia may introduce Kamaz NGVs
Sergey Galstyan, head of ZAO Kamaz Armenia Joint Venture, visited the Russian manufacturing plant and got acquainted with the processing chain for production of Kamaz CNG trucks, which are developed by OOO RariTEK, the automaker’s official partner.
Galstyan was shown the line-up of natural gas vehicles, including a garbage truck based on Kamaz-4308 chassis powered with a gas engine complying with Euro 5 environmental standards. This NGV has already twice showed its advantages participating in auto races: Czech Republic-Germany (950 km) and Yekaterinburg-Moscow (3,500 km).
Armenia’s interest is connected with the growth of demand for vehicles fueled by methane in the country. In 2011, the fleet of NGVs increased by 241% and reached 244,000 units, while the number of CNG filling stations grew by 125% with 345 facilities.
It is worth mentioning that Kamaz has already introduced its natural gas trucks into the
Ukrainian market after signing an agreement with Donetsk-based metals processor TPK Ukrsplav.
