Dominican Republic: there are almost 3,500 vehicles running on methane
From a total of 3,488 units, there are 3,450 cars and SUVs, nine buses that belong to OMSA, 24 that belong to Peravia Motors, two trucks from a dairy company and one from Induveca and Plaza Lama. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has granted 87 licenses to operate natural gas plants and has authorized 37 workshops to install the kits.
To meet the fuel demand, four CNG stations are expected to open this month, published Diario Libre. They will be located on Hermanas Mirabal in Villa Mella; on the Las Americas highway at kilometer 22, Parador del Mar; on the Duarte Highway in Monsignor Nouel; and at the corner of 27 de Febrero and 25th Street in Las Colinas, Santiago.
It is worth mentioning that there are arrangements being made with the Reserves Bank (BanReservas) to finance the Bono-Gas Natural, reported Salvador Rivas, the director of non-conventional energy at the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, when he was asked about the conversion plans of his administration.
This program seeks to benefit drivers that use the regular Bono-Gas, through financing by the BanReservas.
