Spain debuts NGV rental with Iveco model
The Italian manufacturer’s dealer in Castellón, Aupisa, has become the first Spanish car rental company to introduce natural gas powered vehicles to its fleet. The firm has presented two Iveco EcoDaily Natural Power, which can achieve a driving range of over 400 kilometers and generate 60 percent more savings in fuel costs in comparison with diesel engines.
According to a press release published by Europa Press news agency, this model features bi-fuel methane/gasoline equipment. For the CNG option, it offers 136 hp multipoint fuel injection system with pressure up to 7 bar.
When vehicle runs out of CNG, Iveco EcoDaily Natural Power uses an 82 hp gasoline engine, which allows a driving range of up to 100 additional kilometers, necessary to reach the closest natural gas station where vehicle can be refueled.
It is noteworthy that this large van running on CNG produces fewer emissions than Euro VI diesel engines.
