As published by Europa Press, the prototype will begin operations in a permanent itinerary which covers the route Zarzalejo-Centro Móstoles-Centro Chep.

"This new vehicle has major economic and environmental benefits. On the one hand, the price of natural gas is so much cheaper than other fuel options. On the other hand, CNG emits about 50% less carbon dioxide than trucks driven by diesel engines; as a consequence, its contribution to the ozone layer depletion is minimal. Virtually, NGVs don’t emit particulate or noise, allowing also a significant reduction of pollution in urban areas," the company reported through a press release.

The Central Lechera Asturiana is not the only Spanish dairy company that chooses CNG for its distribution fleet. Grupo Leche Pascual recently introduced 10 vans running on methane. Similarly, various logistics firms around the country, such as Transportes Monfort, Disfrimur y Traiglefer, also have shown their interest to opt for natural gas fueled trucks.
