Argentina: Córdoba’s city to put into operation its first CNG filling station
The supply point is expected to be opened in November and will feature an Aspro IODM 115-3/19 compressor and three AS-120-G dispensers. It will be set up in Villa Santa Cruz del Lago -which is a township located in the Punilla Department, seven kilometers away from the city of Villa Carlos Paz- specifically in a nerve centre over Route 38, just opposite the Ministry of Tourism building, in a plot of 1,500 m2. It will also offer other services such as a supermarket, a café and a fast food restaurant.
The municipality now is seeking to draw a new urban profile and improve the air quality for its 2,800 inhabitants, an amount of people which is doubled during the summer season. The new refueling station to be added will greatly benefit the residents of the area and also tourists, as it will be part of a route covered by those driving to the San Roque Lake, Cabalango and Tanti, as well as for those who visit the ancient site Camino de los Cóndores.
Also, the objective of this station is to provide natural gas to Estancia Vieja, Tanti and Parque Siquiman, whose residents now have no choice but filling their tanks in Villa Carlos Paz or Bialet Massé, in many cases driving a distance of 40 kilometers to do so.
As published by El Diario de Carlos Paz, Mayor Luis Mirabet said: "It is a project that excites us. Santa Cruz del Lago and all the surrounding villages will benefit from it."
CNG conversion centers from Villa Carlos Paz reported that there is an increased demand for the installation of kits in the city. Local media recently informed that in every area’s workshops "on average, 10 to 15 cars a week are being converted, mainly registering a high demand for 5th generation equipments."
