The company’s new product with high pressure direct injection (HPDI) system was presented at a press conference at the government building Beijing Diaoyutai State Guesthouse. Speaking at the press conference was Tan Xuguang, Weichai Power Chairman and David Demers, Westport CEO in addition to members from the Ministry of Science and Technology and from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

The manufacturer of lightweight, fuel-efficient carbon composite cylinders and systems for containment of CNG is currently providing efficient gas-transportation solutions to a growing number of bus and truck original equipment manufacturers, vehicle converters and gas companies in North America, South America, Europe and Asia. Moreover, it will exhibit its technology at the Busworld International Trade Fair in Istanbul, Turkey, in April.

The facility was officially inaugurated last month, and is the result of an agreement signed between Greenfuel Energy Solutions and WEH Gas Technology in February 2011. During a joint ceremony, Michael Doering, managing director at WEH®, underlined the importance of this investment for India, one of the largest expanding markets for CNG refueling worldwide.

Following a successful trial of the Genesis Edge Dual-Fuel™ system, a major logistics company has ordered 27 units, worth around £0.7m, to Clean Air Power’s United Kingdom subsidiary. The request will be delivered during the first six months of 2012.
