“This is a great example of how a large public entity like Oklahoma State University can make a real difference and be both fiscally and environmentally responsible,” said Governor Fallin regarding the second Clean Energy filling station in the state.

Besides this opening, OSU has converted its 18 transit/community buses and is also in the process of switching its car fleet to compressed natural gas. Moreover, authorities plan to have 90 NGVs by the end of 2011.

“Converting the university’s fleet to CNG is no small task. For one thing, it required having convenient fuelling available. So we turned to the leader in that area, Clean Energy,” said OSU president Burns Hargis, who estimated that the current CNG conversion has already saved the university more than USD 40,000 in fuel costs.
