Gascop builds eight-pump mega filling station in northern Peru
It will be located in the city of Chiclayo, department of Lambayeque, and its construction will involve an investment of USD 3 million, stated Edgar Sánchez, general manager of Gas Comprimido del Perú S.A. (Gascop). Furthermore, in June the company will expand the existing CNG station in the city, which currently serves more than 430 NGVs.
By the third quarter of this year, Gascop plans to begin operations in this new compressed natural gas mega station, which is being built at the intersection of Evitamient and the extension of Bolognesi Avenue, a strategic area where future work the land transport terminal Chiclayo.
"We are building the station on an area of 4,000 m
2, which will consist of eight CNG pumps and three high-speed compressors to meet market demand and enter into the interprovincial heavy-duty transportation sector, by promoting its rapid conversion and natural gas benefits," explained Sánchez.
Moreover, Gascop will invest USD 400,000 in the expansion of the
station already operating in Chiclayo, which allowed Lambayeque’s access to natural gas for vehicles. With both refuelling points in operation, the firm will serve 2,000 vehicles per day in the city, reported news agency Andina.
The company has also a CNG station in Piura, the
first of the northern region, and plans to open another facility in the city this year. The land is located near the the kilometre two of Panamericana Norte Highway.
