SGN puts into operation six natural gas fueling stations in Dominican Republic
The opening ceremony of the company’s new point of sale located at Isla facility on Independence Avenue in Santo Domingo was attended by the first lady Margarita Cedeño de Fernández. This new installation is equipped with Aspro technology for vehicles fast-filling and set up by Deltagas S.A. technical team, which is the Argentinean company’s representative in the region. In addition, Gasedo is Aspro's commercial representative in the country. Five other CNG stations, which were virtually inaugurated yesterday, will be ready to start selling the fuel by late January.

Together with the first lady, SGN executives took part in the ceremony, including its president, Mario Lama, and his deputy president, Pedro Juan Lama. Both minister of Industry and Trade Manuel García Arévalo and minister of Environment and Natural Resources Ernesto Reyna also attended the opening.
After cutting the ribbon that officially opened the new CNG refueling station, Cedeño de Fernández stated: "These new natural gas facilities will help reduce operation costs of vehicles using that fuel." The site has four pumps with a total of eight filling hoses that are capable of serving the same number of vehicles in three minutes.
Furthermore, Pedro Juan Lama announced that five additional points of sale will be in operation within the next few days in the following Avenues: Charles de Gaulle, Villa Mella, Las Américas, Santiago and Bonao. He also said that Government should give priority to the conversion of 100,000 vehicles to natural gas system over the next three years, because this adoption would represent savings of 1,500 million Dominican pesos (nearly USD 39 million) per month for the country.
