Through this project, Italian first school bus switched to CNG/diesel was launched at Prampolini square in late September. The 55-seat Fiat Iveco 100 E18, which will become operational during the new school year, combines both fuels, using more methane instead of diesel, which notably cuts carbon footprint.

"The agreement signed matches the need for the government to improve transportation conditions with the ability and intelligence to improve industrial production," said Paolo Gandolfi, Mobility assessor of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia, which also participates in the initiative along with Landi Renzo and TIEL.

In addition to the conversion of the vehicle, Landi Renzo has developed a GPS system that not only features usual functions of location but also provides a useful service to the families of the children through text messages that inform when the bus stops close to the collection point and when the bus arrives at school.
