Netherlands: Coca-Cola officially launched two trucks powered by 100% biomethane
Since January 30, the multinational beverage corporation put into operation these Iveco Stralis running on biogas instead of diesel. The presentation ceremony was held at the company’s facilities in the city of Dongen and was attended by the Minister of Infrastructure and Environment, Melanie Schultz van Haegen.

The latest technology now makes it possible for a heavy-duty vehicle to operate on 100% biomethane. By deploying these clean freight transport solution, the CO2 emissions will be reduced by 80 percent, whereas the NOx and particulate emissions will be 90 percent lower compared to conventional Euro V trucks.
During her speech, Minister Schultz van Haegen urged to encourage the use of a sustainable transportation: "The adoption of a sustainable option by Coca-Cola is exemplary. Converting the fleet to be powered by 100% biogas really makes a difference."
In partnership with Vermeer Dongen Logistics, the trucks will be used for serving customers between Coca-Cola factories in the Netherlands and Belgium.
