By delivering two vehicles to OSU
Hertz On Demand adds first NGVs to its service
The car sharing services corporation has recently announced the expansion of Hertz On Demand University program to Oklahoma State University (OSU) with the launching of an all-CNG fleet. Initially, Hertz On Demand will offer students, faculty, staff and the neighbouring community access to two Honda Civic GX sedans, with eventual plans to expand.
"Personal use of natural gas vehicles is rapidly growing and Hertz is in a unique position to introduce this technology to the next generation of drivers," said Mark P. Frissora, Chairman and CEO, The Hertz Corporation. "From energy-efficient vehicles to those that use alternative fuel sources, we are committed to providing a full spectrum of vehicle options across our fleet and with CNG units we are able to do that."
OSU will be the first location to receive NGVs as part of Hertz On Demand's general consumer rental fleet. Hertz deploys CNG airport buses at its Los Angeles International Airport location and will build a CNG fuelling station there. Hertz also rents CNG vehicles in both Italy and the United Kingdom.
As of this fall, Hertz On Demand will have presence on more than 60 University campuses across the U.S., providing an economical, convenient and socially-conscious alternative to car ownership. The service provides members with 24/7 access to vehicles strategically located throughout their city.
