With the inauguration of the filling station in Vitoria, there are two operational sites –the other one is located in Anoeta, Guipúzcoa- while two additional facilities are currently in progress in Guipúzcoa and Asturias provinces. The Group plans to gradually introduce the use of natural gas vehicles in all its business areas.
Regarding EDP Naturgas Energía’s fleet, fifty of the 150 vehicles in service have just been replaced with natural gas powered cars. Once the renewal process finishes, the company will be the first NG distribution company in the Spanish market with a fleet exclusively powered by natural gas. In addition, the Group has handed over two NGVs to Vitoria-Gasteiz City and the Álava Government in order to allow them take advantage of natural gas vehicles benefits.
The EDP Group, through EDP Naturgas Energía, is the second natural gas distributor of the Spanish market and operates nearly 10,000 km of natural gas distribution network with more than one million supply points.
