Moreover, within the framework for the implementation of the Energy Grid Conversion Policy of Bolivia, the EEC-GNV recently called all state institutions to submit their applications for the free vehicles conversion to CNG.
Managing director of the EEC-GNV Hernán Vega reported that 10,379 state fleet vehicles are expected to be converted within four months beginning May 2. The program is planned to be implemented in the regions of La Paz (4,954 vehicles), Cochabamba (1,254), Santa Cruz (1,647), Oruro (602), Chuquisaca and Potosi (1,922), with an investment of USD 12,360,567.
The conversions including include the kit, cylinder and manpower are free. The EEC-GNV director also explained that this project will enable the State to save 86,259,454 Bolivian bolivianos (over USD 12,500,000) because natural gas will be used instead of gasoline and diesel fuels, whose prices are higher than CNG.
