Members of the NGV industry stressed the importance of providing alternative energy options that meet the international increase of oil prices. “Moreover, in a country that must import fuels, natural gas is strategic to reduce import gap,” noted CAGNC’s chairman during the launching of the International NGV Congress & Gaseous Fuels Conference and the V ExpoGNC 2011.
“With the increasing price of liquid fuels and technological advances we have achieved throughout the industry, natural gas for vehicles will continue with a clear growth trend this year,” said Horacio Magraht, president of the Argentine Chamber for Gas Equipment Producers (CAPEC).
Furthermore, Maranca explained that the NGV sector generates profits of USD 600 million annually while employs 30,000 people. In addition, investment in the industry has already reached USD 3,000 million, benefiting two million drivers who choose NGVs.
