The NGV segment in Argentina is continuously growing and has no signs of stopping. Since April, the monthly number of conversions this year is more than 10,000 vehicles. CNG Management of the National Gas Regulatory Agency (Enargas, as its Spanish acronym) reported that there were 14,681 conversions in August (final figure), while 14,182 cars opted for compressed natural gas in September (this number may increase, as the entity’s records are complete).
Therefore, the figures provided by this agency show the following evolution of 2011 monthly conversions: January 8,967; February 7,698; March 9,330; April 11,076; May 11,376; June, 12,342, July 13,946; August 14,681; and September 14,182. As a result, monthly average of kits installation surpasses 11,000 vehicles this year.
Last month, NGVJournal.com reported the new milestone reached by the country’s industry, when beating the mark of 2 million conversions historically accumulated. Currently, that figure has increased up to 2,030,605 units, 20 percent of which has been registered within the last two years.
It is worth mentioning that Argentina will host the International Conference on NGV & Other Gaseous Fuels and V ExpoGNC 2011. It will take place from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th of November in “La Rural” trade fair site in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. For further information, visit www.expognc.com.
