The winner, Miguel Ángel Fichera, enthusiastically took possession of his vehicle, converted at Prestogas workshop, located in Barracas area, in the city of Buenos Aires. “I wanted to switch it before, but now I got it for free. I am very happy,” he said. The driver stated that this is not the first he has had a natural gas powered vehicle and added: “I can save about an 80 per for using CNG. The system is really safe; I’ve never had problems with it.”
It’s worth mentioning that Argentina reached 100,000 conversions to natural gas during 2010, when the sector experienced a recovery locally. The CAGNC led an extensive campaign to promote this fuel, not only through the Internet and brochures delivered to residential gas users but also by different draws held in one of the most popular radio programs in the country (Bravo Continental).
Besides, in December, Prensa Vehicular celebrated the 26th anniversary of NGV in the country by distributing 30,000 leaflets in different points of the city of Buenos Aires called “50 reasons for using CNG”. The brochures listed all compressed natural gas related aspects in order to encourage its implementation.
