In March, there were 11,318 conversions (a figure that could grow once they are completed by Enargas) while in February 8,301 joined the system. In turn, March has exceeded two other figures regarding CNG conversions: first, it represents a 21% increase over the same month of 2011 and, secondly, it means a 12% increase compared to January of this year (with 10,033 kits installed).
According to data provided by the Argentinean entity, during the first three months of 2012 there were 29,652 conversions, while in the same period of last year 25,995 vehicles switched to natural gas. These figures show that 14% drivers more chose this fuel in the first period of 2012.
Currently, total CNG conversions historically accumulated reach 2,077,581 units. With the numbers revealed, Argentina keeps its leadership in Latin America in terms of natural gas vehicles. It is followed by Brazil with 1,702,790 transformations and, in third place, Colombia with 365,168 units.
