Argentina’s President ends today an official visit to the Arab region, where she toured countries such as Kuwait, Qatar and Turkey along with government officials and a local businessmen delegation. The objective of this journey undertaken by Fernandez de Kirchner was to strengthen economic ties and promote Argentina as a strategic destination for Asian investments.
During the state visit in Qatar, Argentina’s president signed an agreement –among others- to guarantee gas supply in Argentina. Both countries will evaluate the installation of a regasification plant for liquefied natural gas in the Gulf of San Matías, in the Argentinean province of Río Negro, in order to make possible the distribution of approximately 20 million cubic meters daily through local gas pipeline system.
The new regasification facility would be the third of its kind in the South American country, which will be added to the ones located at the ports of Bahía Blanca and Escobar (Buenos Aires province).
