“We are working hard in promoting the natural gas for vehicles. The inflationary scenario poses a challenge to families to reduce their costs and the CNG is a solution for both passenger and freight transport as well as for the particular user,” said the CAGNC’s chairman Fausto Maranca.
With the opening of the first two refuelling stations 26 years ago and the initial conversion of 300 taxis and 100 vehicles of the company Gas del Estado, the CNG undertook a successful journey and is now a strategic tool for technological and economic development in Argentina.
According to the CAGNC’s press release, the discovery of new gas fields provides a “new horizon for natural gas exploitation” and reinforces the more than 100,000 conversions to be achieved by late 2010.
Furthermore, CNG has strengthened its technological advance regarding the massive use of 5th generation electronic technology: during 2010 sales of such pieces of equipment got consolidated and its growth reaches between 25 and 30 percent of conversions.
