The program run by the Executing Agency for CNG Conversion (EEC-GNV) achieved the transformation of 27,130 public transport vehicles, which represent 89% of total switched in 2012. Private vehicle segment holds the 8%, consisting of 2,494 units, and the remaining percentage goes to the state-owned fleet, with 853.
As an example of how the free national program is progressing, conversions to CNG for public transport vehicles started a few weeks ago in Puerto Suárez and Puerto Quijarro, Santa Cruz Department. Regarding the refueling service in this region, it only has the Genex Corporation station, located on Arroyo Concepción’s Main Street (near the border with Brazil), in Puerto Quijarro, which was opened to public last month.
