In order to accelerate natural gas conversions, the government of Bolivia works towards measures that restrict vehicles driven by LPG. The switch of these units -free of charge for drivers- had been announced by the ANH in October, when the Executing Agency of CNG Conversion was established by supreme decree.
As reported by the site La Razón Digital, Energy minister Jose Luis Gutierrez, said they plan 80,000 CNG conversions within this year. With it, the country will avoid grants and reduce dependence on liquid hydrocarbons.
It is worth to note there are 5,000 buses and 1,200 minibuses powered by LPG in La Paz.
