As published by local newspaper El País, Flores said that carriers have obtained substantial savings by opting for CNG. Before converting to natural gas, taxi drivers spent more than USD 17 dollars per day spent on gasoline, whereas the cost has been reduced to over USD 4 now with natural gas fuelling.
Besides that, the NGV program director thanked President Evo Morales for making the initiative possible and, at the same time, he highlighted the ecological advantages of CNG, which helps the environment protection.
“Work is done in coordination with the transportation union, so we are happy about the goals achieved, even as people are aware of it,” he concluded.
