“The purchase has been put out to tender to execute the third stage of conversions, so we are waiting for the 20.000 kits to be used at CNG workshops”, Vargas said, according to a report published by ABI news agency.
He explained that the new batch will allow the EEC-GNV to run the third phase of the CNG conversion program, involving public transport vehicles throughout the country. “So far, during the first two stages, over 10,000 vehicles have been converted only in La Paz,” he added.
The Ministry of Hydrocarbons and Energy, through the Executing Agency for NGV Program, is currently implementing the free conversion of public transport at certified workshop centers around the country. The plan gets the money from a fund that collects 20 Bolivian cents when each cubic meter of natural gas is sold at refueling stations.
