The meeting was held on July 27th and 28th in La Paz Departmental Union of Drivers site. “The training sessions are part of the national NGV program and opened not only for conversion centres employees but also for the general public. By now, we are working with the public transport sector as they take part in the first phase of our conversion program,” the managing director of the EEC-GNV Carlos Asport stated.
During the conferences, the technical, economic, social and political aspects of CNG were discussed and, as a result, participants praised the initiative. The executive secretary of La Paz Union of Drivers René Vargas described the lectures as productive and satisfying: “For all those CNG users, these seminars allow them to learn what the benefits of natural gas for vehicles are and how to solve possible problems,” he said.
Besides that, the expert Jaime Cordera, who is the academic director of the ITAB, explained that “the aim is to provide specialized information and, consequently, encourage carriers to change to CNG system.”
