“We have identified the need to support taxi drivers and ensure them the opportunity to upgrade the fleets and, consequently, improve the service offered,” said the official, as reported by Fomento Paraná, which is a financial institution that operates with its own resources allocated to initiatives in line with the state government policy.
Credit facilities can be requested by individuals and concession holders registered at municipal agencies. The deadline to return the money is up to 60 months, with lending rates by from 0.55% per month, depending on each case. “With this financial incentive policy we will improve taxi service and drivers’ working conditions,” said Luiz Maldonado Marthos, president of the Paraná Taxi Drivers and Passengers Carriers Federation.
In turn, Fomento Paraná director of Development Juraci Barbosa Sobrinho said that taxi drivers have one of the lowest interest rates in the country and can take advantage of up to 75 days for settling the first payment.
