According to an article published by Terra da Gente magazine, the vehicle’s engine has demonstrated a great performance and a significant reduction in noise levels and pollution. It was also confirmed this CNG-powered bus generate significant savings in fuel costs compared to the diesel driven ones.
The next goal to be achieved is to increase the bus driving range, which currently requires two daily supplies. To optimize the local route service, it is expected that the bus will complete the entire route with a single fuelling stop per day. In order to succeed in this aim, an additional cylinder will be installed.
Richard Jardin, who is Comgás Vehicle Sales Manager and manager of this innovative project, stated: “Beyond the economic benefits, natural gas conversion brings as well both environmental advantages and health quality enhancement.”
