“In addition to managing and operating the filling stations, Ballast Nedam wants to be involved in all the phases of a project in order to offer the best possible life-cycle solution to its customers. So this transaction is fully in line with our ambitions regarding an integral working approach within the niche market of alternative fuels,” said Theo Bruijninckx, CEO at Ballast Nedam.
CNG Net will operate the stations on Connexxion’s sites during the entire term of the concession, which is the largest one in the Netherlands and unique in Europe due to the contract volume of biomethane. The existing location in Nijmegen on the Industrieweg will be modified to cope with the number of extra city buses that will use the station to fill up with renewable natural gas.
