As an incentive for the sector, the gas distribution company of Santa Catarina – SCGás- begins to widen its area of supply by 2015. It intends to add 19 cities with an investment of R$ 144.9 million.
Moreover, SCGás is planning a promotional campaign which stresses the 47% of savings that customers could obtain if they convert their vehicles to CNG, at any time of the year.
Currently, NGV´s drivers pay a lower cost for fuel. They save between R$ 0.30 and R$ 0.88 per cubic meter, according to ethanol and gasoline litre prices in the capital city.
It is also estimated that liquid fuel costs will continue to grow in the coming month due to risk of ethanol shortages, while “CNG prices will remain stable in 2011 in Santa Catarina”, stated the SCGás automotive market coordinator, Andrew Zapellini.
