These figures represent an increase of 27% in CNG sales compared to 2012, when the volume delivered was 800 million cubic meters or USD 563 million. Naturgas believes the natural gas delivery to grow even more in 2014 reaching nearly USD 786 million, thanks to the conversion of new vehicles and new public transport segments adopting the clean fuel.
In an article published by La República, Eduardo Pizano, president of the association consisting of 25 companies, commented: “This year we expect to convert about 50,000 new vehicles to CNG. Besides, in the long term, we will able to expand this business within the public transport sector.”
“Colombia has about 700 natural gas filling stations and, consequently, benefits from this wide coverage. It is a result of the effort made by companies over a long period of time”, he added.
With this promising scenario for natural gas vehicles, the most important NGV event of Latin America in 2013 -NGV2013 Colombia- will be held next week. Visit the official website for more information.
