“This is a first step, the next stage includes bringing this program to the Cesar Department to achieve full coverage of NGV service in the Caribbean region,” said the minister, and also added that the goal is to scale the initiative to the whole country, to double the number of vehicles running on natural gas.
Moreover, the Mayor of Riohacha stated: “We waited for many years to have CNG fuel, mainly because here we have the gas reserves that serve the entire country. The pilot in the capital city of La Guajira will have a beneficial impact for some 232,000 people, but the aim is that in the very near future most citizen of the department can benefit.”
It is worth adding that in this favorable context for the industry, NGV2013 Colombia, an international conference and exhibition on Natural Gas Vehicle, will take place on November 6-8 at Las Americas Resort & Centro de Convenciones in Cartagena.
