At the same time, according to Dominican NGV users, since they started using the fuel, a 70 percent reduction in monthly fuel costs has been obtained compared to liquid options.
One of them, as reported by the same newspaper, revealed that he spends 6,000 pesos (nearly USD 156) per month with CNG, whereas before, with the use of gasoline, the cost used to reach 16,000 pesos (USD 414). On the other hand, a taxi driver interviewed said that he used to pay 700 to 800 pesos (USD 20) per day using gasoline and now he only pays 350-400 pesos (USD 10) with natural gas.
The growing interest in CNG among drivers is accompanied by the opening of new natural gas refueling stations across Santo Domingo. Some days ago, SGN put into operation one NGV filling point and symbolically inaugurated five others.
