During a ceremony held last week, Mochotran approved a cut in fares on all the routes operated by agencies affiliated to the organization as soon as the vehicles conversion to CNG is implemented. They argue that the conversion of propane to natural gas will reduce operating costs in the transportation sector and will protect the environment.
Meanwhile, the Dominican Republic’s Federation of Traders and Businessmen (Fenacerd) and the National Union of Carriers (CNTU) agreed to develop the vehicles switch to natural gas system.
“The purpose of this agreement is the implementation of programs for the conversion of light and heavy-duty vehicles to CNG, as well as the equipment for industrial use,” commented the members involved. The project aims to convert to natural gas 1,500 out of 30,000 traders’ vehicles affiliated to Fenacerd.
