The UK engineering consultancy firm Mott MacDonald Ltd has been assessing the viability of constructing an LNG plant in the city of Mombasa. As reported by Business Daily Africa, the facility would provide natural gas to industries around the area in order to reduce their dependence on thermal power solutions. “These sources are limited over time and natural gas is being actively considered to bridge the gap,” Mott MacDonald project director Azfar Shaukat stated.
